Sahih al-Bukhari 6114 (Book 78, Hadith 141) #5870
Strength of Self-Control

SUMMARY: The strong is not the one who overcomes people by physical strength, but the one who can control himself when angry.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for inner strength and self control.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that true strength does not come from overpowering others with physical strength, but rather from having the self-control to remain calm and composed even in moments of anger. It is important to remember that it takes a lot more courage and discipline to be able to control oneself than it does to lash out in anger. We should strive for this kind of inner strength as it will help us make better decisions and lead more meaningful lives.
