This hadith explains how the call to prayer, known as Adhan, affects Satan. According to this hadith, when the Adhan is pronounced, Satan takes off running away from it and passes wind with noise during his flight in order not to hear it. When the Iqama is announced after the completion of the Adhan, he returns again and tries to distract people from their prayers by whispering into their hearts and making them remember things they would not have thought about before praying. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our prayers so that we can focus on them without being distracted by anything else. It also shows us how powerful Allah's words are; even something as simple as a call for prayer can cause such an effect on evil forces like Satan!
