Invoking Blessings from Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) visited a household of the Ansars and prayed for Allah's blessing upon them.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger visited a household among the Ansars, and he took a meal with them. When he intended to leave, he asked for a place in that house for him, to pray so a mat sprinkled with water was put and he offered prayer over it, and invoked for Allah's Blessing upon them (his hosts).

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for blessings from Allah on those around you; Be generous towards others; Show hospitality even if you have little yourself
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of invoking blessings from Allah. It is narrated by Anas bin Malik that the Prophet Muhammad visited a household among the Ansars and took a meal with them. When he was about to leave, he asked for a place in that house to pray so a mat sprinkled with water was put down and he offered prayer over it. He then invoked for Allah's blessing upon his hosts. This hadith teaches us that we should always ask for blessings from Allah on those around us as well as ourselves. We should also be mindful of our actions when visiting someone’s home and take care not to cause any harm or discomfort while there. Furthermore, this hadith shows us how important it is to be generous towards others and show hospitality even if we have little ourselves; something which is highly praised in Islam.
