Sahih al-Bukhari 6078 (Book 78, Hadith 106) #5835
Knowing When Someone Is Angry Or Pleased

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger ﷺ knows when 'Aisha is pleased or angry by the words she uses.

Narrated 'Aisha: Allah's Messenger said, " I know whether you are angry or pleased". I said, "How do you know that, Allah's Messenger ?" He said, "When you are pleased, you say, "Yes, by the Lord of Muhammad,' but when you are angry, you say, 'No, by the Lord of Abraham!' " I said, "Yes, I do not leave, except your name".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful towards your words; Use positive language to express yourself respectfully; Be aware about your emotions.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the power of words and how they can be used to express our emotions. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was able to tell whether 'Aisha was angry or pleased just by the words she used. When she was pleased, she said "Yes, by the Lord of Muhammad," and when she was angry, she said "No, by the Lord of Abraham." This shows that we should be mindful of our words and use them carefully as they can reveal our true feelings. We should also strive to use positive language in order to express ourselves in a respectful manner.
