Brotherhood Among Muslims

SUMMARY: Muslims should not hate, be jealous of, or desert one another and should instead be brothers.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Messenger said, "Do not hate one another, nor be jealous of one another; and do not desert one another, but O Allah's worshipers! Be Brothers! And it is unlawful for a Muslim to desert his brother Muslim (and not to talk to him) for more than three nights".

This hadith is about the importance of brotherhood among Muslims. It emphasizes that it is unlawful for a Muslim to desert his brother Muslim for more than three nights. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we must not hate each other, be jealous of each other or desert one another but instead we must love and support each other as brothers in faith. We must strive to have sincere intentions towards our fellow believers and cooperate with them in order to strengthen our unity as a community. We should also avoid having pride or egoism which can lead us to become distant from one another.
