Sahih al-Bukhari 6033 (Book 78, Hadith 63) #5792
Courageous Character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was the best among the people in terms of character and generosity, and was also brave. He showed courage when the people of Medina were afraid of a sound during the night, by riding a horse belonging to Abu Talha without a saddle and carrying a sword slung at his neck.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet was the best among the people (both in shape and character) and was the most generous of them, and was the bravest of them. Once, during the night, the people of Medina got afraid (of a sound). So the people went towards that sound, but the Prophet having gone to that sound before them, met them while he was saying, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid". (At that time) he was riding a horse belonging to Abu Talha and it was naked without a saddle, and he was carrying a sword slung at his neck. The Prophet said, "I found it (the horse) like a sea, or, it is the sea indeed".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the exemplary character traits that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) possessed. He was known for his generosity, courage, and fearlessness. During one particular night in Medina, when everyone else was scared due to an unknown sound, he showed immense bravery by riding on Abu Talha's horse without any saddle or protection while carrying a sword around his neck. His courage inspired others to not be afraid anymore as he reassured them with his words "Don't be afraid". This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to emulate these qualities in our own lives so that we can become better Muslims and better human beings overall. It also serves as an example for us to follow whenever we are faced with difficult situations or challenges in life; instead of being scared or overwhelmed by them, we should take it upon ourselves to face them head-on with courage and faith in Allah SWT's will.
