Artificial Hair Lengthening Forbidden

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ cursed a woman who artificially lengthened her hair or got her hair lengthened artificially.

Narrated Asma: (the daughter of Abu' Bakr) A woman came to Allah's Messenger and said, "I married my daughter to someone, but she became sick and all her hair fell out, and (because of that) her husband does not like her. May I let her use false hair?" On that the Prophet cursed such a lady as artificially lengthening (her or someone else's) hair or got her hair lengthened artificially.

QUICK LESSONS:
Accept yourself for who you are and don't try to change your physical features with unnatural methods.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of artificial hair lengthening. It was narrated by Asma, the daughter of Abu Bakr, that a woman came to Allah's Messenger and asked if she could let her daughter use false hair because her husband did not like her due to all of her hair falling out. In response, the Prophet cursed such a lady as artificially lengthening or getting someone else's hair lengthened artificially. This hadith teaches us that it is forbidden in Islam to use artificial means to change one's appearance and that we should accept ourselves for who we are and not try to change our physical features with unnatural methods.
