The Dyed Hair of the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: Um Salama, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, had some of his dyed hair which she showed to Uthman bin Abdullah bin Mauhab.

Narrated 'Uthman bin 'Abdullah bin Mauhab: I went to Um Salama and she brought out for us some of the dyed hair of the Prophet.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلاَّمٌ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ، قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَأَخْرَجَتْ إِلَيْنَا شَعَرًا مِنْ شَعَرِ النَّبِيِّ مَخْضُوبًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Uthman Bin Abdullah Bin Mauhab who went to visit Um Salama, one of the wives of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. She showed him some dyed hair that belonged to the prophet. This hadith shows us how much respect and reverence people have for their beloved prophet and how they cherish even small things that belonged to him such as his dyed hair. It also teaches us that we should always show respect for our elders and those in authority over us as well as those who are more knowledgeable than us.
