EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the clothing that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was wearing when he passed away. It is narrated by Abu Burda that Aisha brought out to them a kisah and an Izar and said that the Prophet died while wearing these two items of clothing. A kisah is a square black piece of woolen cloth, while an Izar is a sheet cloth garment covering the lower half of the body. This hadith teaches us about how we should be mindful of our appearance even in death, as it was important to the Prophet to be dressed in his best garments when he passed away. It also shows us how much respect we should have for our elders and those who have passed away by dressing modestly at their funerals or memorial services.
