The Consequences of Conceit

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not look favorably upon those who drag their garments out of conceit.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: The Prophet said Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection at the person who drags his garment (behind him) out of conceit. On that Abu Bakr said, "O Allah's Messenger ! One side of my Izar hangs low if I do not take care of it". The Prophet said, 'You are not one of those who do that out of conceit".

Remain humble and modest in all aspects so we can gain favor from Allah on the day we are judged for our deeds .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the consequences that come with having a conceited attitude. It was narrated by Abdullah bin Umar, who said that Prophet Muhammad said that Allah will not look favorably upon those on the Day of Resurrection who drag their garments out of conceit. Abu Bakr then asked if he would be punished for his garment dragging low if he did not take care to fix it, and Prophet Muhammad replied that he was not one to do it out of conceit. This hadith teaches us to be humble and modest in our actions and attitudes, as pride can lead us astray from Allah's path. We should strive to remain humble in all aspects so we can gain favor from Allah on the day we are judged for our deeds.
