Sahih al-Bukhari 5742 (Book 76, Hadith 57) #5508
The Healing Prayer of Anas bin Malik

SUMMARY: Anas bin Malik recited a prayer to Allah asking for healing of Thabit's sickness.

Narrated 'Abdul 'Aziz: Thabit and I went to Anas bin Malik. Thabit said, "O Abu Hamza! I am sick". On that Anas said, "Shall I treat you with the Ruqya of Allah's Messenger ?" Thabit said, "Yes," Anas recited, "O Allah! The Lord of the people, the Remover of trouble! (Please) cure (Heal) (this patient), for You are the Healer. None brings about healing but You; a healing that will leave behind no ailment".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the power of prayer and how it can be used to heal physical ailments. It was narrated by 'Abdul 'Aziz and Anas bin Malik, who were companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In this hadith, Thabit was sick and asked Anas to recite a ruqya, which is an Islamic form of supplication or invocation. In response, Anas recited a prayer asking Allah for healing with no side effects. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah in times of need and ask Him for help as He is the only one who can truly heal us from our afflictions. We should also have faith in His power as He has promised that He will answer our prayers if we are sincere in our supplications.
