Protection of Medina from Dajjal and Plague

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that neither the Dajjal nor plague will enter Medina.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "Neither Messiah (Ad-Dajjal) nor plague will enter Medina".
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نُعَيْمٍ الْمُجْمِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْمَدِينَةَ الْمَسِيحُ وَلاَ الطَّاعُونُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the protection of Medina from two major events - the coming of the Dajjal and a plague. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that neither would be able to enter into Medina. This hadith teaches us that Allah has promised to protect His city, and He will keep His promise no matter what. It also shows us how much importance Allah places on protecting His city, as He has promised to protect it even from such major events. We can learn from this hadith that we should always have faith in Allah's promises and trust in Him for protection in all matters.
