The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that healing can be found in three things; cupping, a gulp of honey or cauterization. Cupping is a traditional practice where heated cups are placed on the skin to create suction which helps with pain relief and other health benefits. A gulp of honey is also known to have many health benefits such as aiding digestion and boosting energy levels. Cauterization is a medical procedure where heat or chemicals are used to burn away tissue for healing purposes. However, the Prophet forbade his followers from using this method as it was too painful for them. This hadith teaches us that we should look for natural remedies before resorting to more extreme measures when it comes to our health and wellbeing.
