QUICK LESSONS:
Remain patient and steadfast in faith during difficult times .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Allah rewards Muslims for enduring difficulties. It was narrated by Ibn Mas’ud who visited the Prophet Muhammad while he was having a high fever. He asked if he had a high fever and the Prophet replied that it was as much as two men would have. When asked if he would receive double reward, the Prophet said yes and explained that whenever a Muslim is afflicted with hurt caused by disease or some other inconvenience, Allah will remove his sins like a tree sheds its leaves. This means that no matter what difficulty or hardship we face in life, Allah will forgive our sins if we remain patient and steadfast in our faith. We should remember this when facing difficult times so that we can be comforted knowing that our suffering has not gone unnoticed by God and He will reward us for it in the hereafter.
