The Importance of a Night

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of the night in which it was narrated and how no one present on earth will be alive after 100 years.

Narrated 'Abdullah: "One night Allah's Messenger led us in the 'Isha' prayer and that is the one called Al-'Atama ? by the people. After the completion of the prayer, he faced us and said, "Do you know the importance of this night? Nobody present on the surface of the earth tonight will be living after one hundred years from this night". .
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ سَالِمٌ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لَيْلَةً صَلاَةَ الْعِشَاءِ ـ وَهْىَ الَّتِي يَدْعُو النَّاسُ الْعَتَمَةَ ـ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَيْلَتَكُمْ هَذِهِ فَإِنَّ رَأْسَ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ مِنْهَا لاَ يَبْقَى مِمَّنْ هُوَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by 'Abdullah, speaks to the importance of a particular night. Allah's Messenger led his followers in prayer and then addressed them, asking if they knew the significance of that night. He informed them that none of those present would still be alive after one hundred years from that night. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all that life is fleeting and we should make use of our time here on earth wisely. We should strive to do good deeds and live our lives according to Allah's teachings so we can be rewarded in the afterlife. It also reminds us not to take life for granted or become too attached to worldly possessions as they will all eventually pass away with time.
