Praying in Groups of Seven and Eight Rak'at

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed seven and eight rak'at together.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet prayed seven rak'at together and eight rak'at together.
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ سَبْعًا جَمِيعًا وَثَمَانِيًا جَمِيعًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of praying in groups of seven or eight rak’ats. A rak’at is a unit of prayer that consists of standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting. The Prophet Muhammad would often pray with his companions in groups of seven or eight rak’ats at a time. This shows us that it is important to pray together as a community and to support each other in our religious practices. It also teaches us the importance of following the example set by the Prophet Muhammad as he was an exemplary role model for all Muslims to follow.
