Drinking Milk at 'Arafat

SUMMARY: The Prophet was given a bowl of milk while he was standing at 'Arafat and he drank it.

Narrated Um Al-Fadl: (daughter of Al-Harith) that she sent a bowl of milk to the Prophet while he was standing (at 'Arafat) in the afternoon of the Day of 'Arafat. He took it in his hands and drank it. Narrated Abu Nadr: The Prophet was on the back of his camel.
حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّهَا أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ، وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ، فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ فَشَرِبَهُ‏.‏ زَادَ مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet drinking a bowl of milk while he was standing at 'Arafat during the afternoon on the Day of 'Arafat. It is narrated by Um Al-Fadl, daughter of Al-Harith, who sent him the bowl of milk, and Abu Nadr who witnessed him drinking it from his camel's back. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous with our food and drinks as well as be thankful for what we are given. We should also remember to take care of ourselves even when we are in worship or in any other situation because Allah has commanded us to take care of our bodies so that we can perform our duties properly.
