Sahih al-Bukhari 558 (Book 9, Hadith 35) #538
Working Together in Unity

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used the example of a man who employed laborers to illustrate how Muslims, Jews and Christians should work together.

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said, "The example of Muslims, Jews and Christians is like the example of a man who employed laborers to work for him from morning till night. They worked till midday and they said, 'We are not in need of your reward'. So the man employed another batch and said to them, 'Complete the rest of the day and yours will be the wages I had fixed (for the first batch). They worked until the time of the 'Asr prayer and said, 'Whatever we have done is for you'. He employed another batch. They worked for the rest of the day till sunset, and they received the wages of the two former batches".

Cooperate with each other , Help others without expecting anything in return .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of cooperation and unity among Muslims, Jews and Christians. It is illustrated by the example of a man who hired laborers to work for him from morning till night. The first batch worked until midday but refused to take any reward for their labor. Similarly, the second batch worked until 'Asr prayer but also refused any reward for their labor. Finally, the third batch worked until sunset and received wages from both previous batches as well as their own wages. This hadith teaches us that when we cooperate with each other in unity we can achieve great things together that no one could do alone. We should be willing to help each other without expecting anything in return because it will benefit us all in the end.
