This hadith is about a situation where Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri was not present at the time of 'Id-al-Adha and when he came, some meat was presented to him. The people said that it was from their sacrifices but since he wasn't aware of any new verdict allowing them to store and eat sacrificial meat later on, he refused to eat it. This hadith teaches us an important lesson which is that we should refrain from doing something if we are unaware or uncertain about its ruling or verdict in Islam. We should always seek knowledge before taking any action so that our actions are in accordance with Islamic teachings.
