Sahih al-Bukhari 554 (Book 9, Hadith 31) #534
The Importance of Prayers Before Sunrise and Sunset

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of offering prayers before sunrise and sunset, and how Allah will make it easy for us to see Him if we do so.

Narrated Qais: Jarir said, "We were with the Prophet and he looked at the moon--full-moon--and said, 'Certainly you will see your Lord as you see this moon and you will have no trouble in seeing Him. So if you can avoid missing (through sleep or business, etc) a prayer before the sunrise (Fajr) and a prayer before sunset ('Asr), you must do so'. He then recited Allah's Statement: And celebrate the praises Of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting". (50:39) Isma'il said, "Offer those prayers and do not miss them".

QUICK LESSONS:
Offer obligatory prayer on time everyday before sunrise & sunset

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of offering two prayers before sunrise and sunset. It is narrated by Qais that Jarir said they were with Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when he looked at the full moon and said that if one can avoid missing these two prayers then they will be able to see their Lord as easily as they can see this moon. He then recited a verse from Quran which states that one should celebrate praises of their Lord before sunrise and sunset. Isma'il added that one should offer these two prayers without fail. This hadith teaches us the importance of offering our daily obligatory prayers on time in order to gain Allah's blessings. It also encourages us to appreciate Allah's creation such as sun, moon etc., by praising Him for them every day before sunrise or sunset. Moreover, it reminds us that if we are regular in our prayer routine then Allah will make it easy for us to meet Him in Jannah without any difficulty or trouble.
