EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik tells us that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companion Anas bin Malik used to offer two rams as a sacrifice. This is an act of worship known in Arabic as qurbani or ibadah which is a voluntary offering made during certain religious festivals such as Eid al-Adha. It is also known in Arabic as nafilah which means an act of devotion or piety beyond what is required by Islamic law. By offering these sacrifices, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companion were demonstrating their commitment to God and their willingness to perform acts of devotion beyond what was required of them. This hadith serves as an example for Muslims today who are encouraged to perform acts of devotion beyond what is required by Islamic law in order to gain closer proximity with God.
