EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the blessing of naming a child. It is narrated by Abu Musa that when his son was born, he took him to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who named him Ibrahim and did tahnik for him with a date. Tahnik is an Islamic tradition where one chews on a date or other sweet food item and then places it in the baby's mouth as an act of blessing. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also invoked Allah to bless his son before returning him back to his father. This hadith teaches us that it is important for parents to name their children soon after birth as this brings blessings from Allah upon them. It also shows us how important it is for parents to seek blessings from Allah upon their children through acts such as tahnik which are part of Islamic traditions.
