Eating Habits of the Prophet (ﷺ)

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) was presented with food and he only ate the Iqt and drank the milk.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the eating habits of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is narrated by Ibn 'Abbas that his aunt presented roasted mastigures, iqt and milk to the prophet. The mastigures were put on his dining sheet which implies that it was permissible to eat them. However, he only drank the milk and ate iqt only. This shows us that even though certain foods may be permissible for us to eat, we should still practice moderation in our diet as this is what our beloved prophet did himself. We can also learn from this hadith that we should be grateful for whatever food we are given no matter how simple it may seem as even something like iqt was enough for him to satisfy his hunger.
