EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the issue of slavery in Islam. It was narrated by Ibn 'Abbas who saw Barirah's husband as a slave. In Islamic teachings, slavery has been abolished and it is not allowed to enslave anyone or to buy or sell slaves. Instead of enslaving people, Muslims are encouraged to help those in need and provide them with financial support so that they can become independent and self-sufficient. Furthermore, Muslims are also encouraged to treat their slaves with kindness and respect if they have any; this includes providing them with food and clothing as well as giving them freedom when possible. The Prophet Muhammad also said that whoever frees a slave will be rewarded by Allah on the Day of Judgment for his good deed. This hadith serves as an important reminder for us all that we should strive to help those less fortunate than us instead of exploiting them for our own benefit or taking advantage of their situation.
