Seeking Refuge with Allah

SUMMARY: A woman sought refuge with Allah from the Prophet (ﷺ) when she was brought to him as his bride, and he granted her request and returned her to her family.

Narrated Al-Awzaa'i: I asked Az-Zuhri, "Which of the wives of the Prophet sought refuge with Allah from him?" He said "I was told by 'Urwa that 'Aisha said, 'When the daughter of Al-Jaun was brought to Allah's Messenger (as his bride) and he went near her, she said, "I seek refuge with Allah from you". He said, "You have sought refuge with The Great; return to your family".
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ أَىُّ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ اسْتَعَاذَتْ مِنْهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ ابْنَةَ الْجَوْنِ لَمَّا أُدْخِلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَدَنَا مِنْهَا قَالَتْ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْكَ‏.‏ فَقَالَ لَهَا ‏ "‏ لَقَدْ عُذْتِ بِعَظِيمٍ، الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَوَاهُ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي مَنِيعٍ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a woman who was brought to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as his bride. When she saw him, she asked for refuge with Allah from him. The Prophet ﷺ respected her wishes and allowed her to return home without marrying him. This hadith teaches us that we should always respect people's wishes, even if it means not getting what we want in the end. It also shows us that seeking refuge in Allah is something that should be done whenever we feel scared or overwhelmed by a situation. We can learn from this hadith that no matter how difficult our circumstances may be, if we turn to Allah for help He will answer our prayers and provide us with guidance on how best to proceed in life.
