This hadith discusses the seriousness of divorce in Islam. It was narrated by Anas bin Seereen and Yunus bin Jubair that Ibn 'Umar said he divorced his wife while she was menstruating. When Umar mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he told Umar to let his son take her back. When asked if such a divorce would be counted as one legal divorce, Ibn 'Umar replied with a rhetorical question about what would happen if someone became helpless or foolish. This hadith teaches us that divorce is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly as it can have long-term consequences for both parties involved in the marriage contract. It also shows us how important it is to seek advice from knowledgeable people before making any decisions regarding marriage or divorce so we can make sure we are following Islamic teachings correctly.
