Sahih al-Bukhari 5185, 5186 (Book 67, Hadith 120) #4966
Kindness to Neighbors and Care for Women

SUMMARY: Believing in Allah and the Last Day should lead to treating one's neighbor with kindness, and special care should be taken when dealing with women.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not hurt (trouble) his neighbor. And I advise you to take care of the women, for they are created from a rib and the most crooked portion of the rib is its upper part; if you try to straighten it, it will break, and if you leave it, it will remain crooked, so I urge you to take care of the women".

QUICK LESSONS:
Believe in Allah and the Last Day, Treat your neighbor kindly, Take special care of women

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how believing in Allah and the Last Day should lead us to treat our neighbors kindly. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also advised us to take special care when dealing with women. He said that women are created from a rib which is crooked at its upper part; if we try to straighten it out it will break but if we leave it alone it will remain crooked. This means that we must be gentle when dealing with them as they are delicate creatures who need special care. We must respect them and treat them kindly so that they can live their lives without fear or harm.
