Sahih al-Bukhari 5143, 5144 (Book 67, Hadith 79) #4925
Avoiding Suspicion and Enmity Among Muslims

SUMMARY: This hadith is about avoiding suspicion, spying, and enmity between Muslims and instead being brothers to one another. It also advises against asking for the hand of a girl who is already engaged to another Muslim.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Beware of suspicion (about others), as suspicion is the falsest talk, and do not spy upon each other, and do not listen to the evil talk of the people about others' affairs, and do not have enmity with one another, but be brothers. And none should ask for the hand of a girl who is already engaged to his (Muslim) brother, but one should wait till the first suitor marries her or leaves her".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of avoiding suspicion, spying on each other, and having enmity between Muslims. Instead, it encourages brotherhood among them. It also advises against asking for the hand of a girl who is already engaged to another Muslim as it would be disrespectful towards him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should not have any ill feelings towards our fellow believers but instead be kind and loving towards them as if they were our own family members. We should always strive to maintain peace in our communities by respecting each other’s boundaries and not engaging in activities that could lead to conflict or disharmony among us.
