Avoiding Superstitions

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned against believing in superstitions such as bad omens from women, houses, and horses.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Messenger said, "Evil omen is in the women, the house and the horse'.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ، وَسَالِمٍ، ابْنَىْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الشُّؤْمُ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ وَالْفَرَسِ
