Marriage with Temporary Contract

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade his followers from castrating themselves and instead allowed them to marry women with a temporary contract.

Narrated 'Abdullah: We used to participate in the holy battles led by Allah's Messenger and we had nothing (no wives) with us. So we said, "Shall we get ourselves castrated?" He forbade us that and then allowed us to marry women with a temporary contract II and recited to us: -- 'O you who believe ! Make not unlawful the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, but commit no transgression'. (5:87)

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of marriage in Islam and how it should be done. It was narrated by Abdullah, who said that they used to participate in the holy battles led by Allah's Messenger and they had nothing with them. So they asked if they could get themselves castrated, but he forbade them from doing so and instead allowed them to marry women with a temporary contract. He recited verse 5:87 of the Quran which states "O you who believe! Make not unlawful the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, but commit no transgression." This verse emphasizes that Muslims should not make something unlawful that Allah has made lawful for us, such as marriage. The Prophet also taught us that marriage is an important part of life and should be done according to Islamic laws. We must remember this teaching when we are looking for a spouse or considering getting married.
