Appreciating Reminders of the Quran

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was reminded of verses from the Quran by a man reciting it at night, and he showed appreciation for the man's reminder.

Narrated Aisha: Allah's Messenger heard a man reciting the Qur'an at night, and said, "May Allah bestow His Mercy on him, as he has reminded me of such-and-such Verses of such-and-such surahs, which I was caused to forget".
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ سَمِعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ رَجُلاً يَقْرَأُ فِي سُورَةٍ بِاللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ يَرْحَمُهُ اللَّهُ لَقَدْ أَذْكَرَنِي كَذَا وَكَذَا آيَةً كُنْتُ أُنْسِيتُهَا مِنْ سُورَةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا

This hadith is about appreciating reminders of the Quran. It tells us that when we recite or hear someone else reciting verses from the Quran, we should be thankful for being reminded of its teachings. The Prophet Muhammad showed his appreciation to a man who was reciting at night by wishing him mercy from Allah. This teaches us that we should be grateful for any reminder that helps us remember Allah’s words and teachings in our lives.
