SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed two rak'at of Zuhr and 'Asr prayers at Al-Batha' with a short spear planted in front of him as a Sutra while women and donkeys were passing beyond it.

Narrated 'Aun bin Abi Juhaifa: I heard my father saying, "The Prophet led us, and prayed a two-rak'at Zuhr prayer and then a two rak' at 'Asr prayer at Al-Batha' ? with a short spear (planted) in front of him (as a Sutra) while women and donkeys were passing in front of him (beyond that stick).

QUICK LESSONS:
Be mindful when you are praying so you can concentrate on your worship without being distracted by your surroundings or other people.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of praying two rak'at of Zuhr and 'Asr prayers at Al-Batha'. He placed a short spear in front of him as a sutrah, which is an object that serves as an obstruction between the worshipper and any passersby. This was done to ensure that no one would pass between him and his prayer direction, which is known as qibla. The hadith also mentions that women and donkeys were passing beyond this stick. This shows us how important it was for the Prophet to maintain focus during his prayer despite distractions around him. It also teaches us to be mindful when we are praying so that we can concentrate on our worship without being distracted by our surroundings or other people.
