Special Prayer Upon Revelation of Surat-An-Nasr

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) recited a special prayer when the Surat-An-Nasr was revealed to him.

Narrated Aisha: "When the "Surat-An-Nasr", 'When comes the Help of Allah and the conquest,' had been revealed to the Prophet he did not offer any prayer except that he said therein, "Subhanka Rabbana wa bihamdika; Allahumma ighfirli (I testify the Uniqueness of our Lord, and all the praises are for Him: O Allah, forgive me!")

QUICK LESSONS:
Thanking God for blessings & good news

EXPLANATIONS:
When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received revelation from Allah, he would recite a special prayer in response. This hadith is about the particular prayer that he recited when the surah An Nasr was revealed to him. The surah is about how Allah will help and protect those who believe in Him and His messenger, and how He will grant them victory over their enemies. In response to this revelation, the Prophet ﷺ said “Subhanka Rabbana wa bihamdika; Allahumma ighfirli” which translates to “I testify the Uniqueness of our Lord, and all praises are for Him; O Allah forgive me!” This shows us that whenever we receive good news or blessings from God, we should thank Him for it and ask for His forgiveness. It also teaches us that no matter what happens in life, we should always turn back to God with humility and gratitude.
