Reciting the Quran in its Original Form

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of reciting the Quran in its original form as taught by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Narrated Ibrahim: The companions of 'Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) came to Abu Darda', (and before they arrived at his home), he looked for them and found them. Then he asked them,: 'Who among you can recite (Qur'an) as 'Abdullah recites it?" They replied, "All of us". He asked, "Who among you knows it by heart?" They pointed at 'Alqama. Then he asked Alqama".How did you hear 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud reciting Surat Al-Lail (The Night)?" Alqama recited: 'By the male and the female'. Abu Ad-Darda said, "I testify that I heard me Prophet reciting it likewise, but these people want me to recite it:-- 'And by Him Who created male and female'. but by Allah, I will not follow them".

QUICK LESSONS:
Carefully recite and teach Quranic verses according to what was originally taught by Prophet Muhammed PBUH .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of reciting the Quran in its original form as taught by Prophet Muhammad. It is narrated that when a group of companions came to Abu Darda', he asked them who among them could recite Surat Al-Lail like Abdullah bin Mas'ud. When Alqama recited it differently than what was taught by Prophet Muhammad, Abu Ad-Darda refused to follow their version and testified that he heard it from Prophet Muhammad himself. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful while reciting or teaching Quranic verses and make sure we are following what was originally taught by Prophet Muhammad. We should not change any words or add anything extra while reading or teaching Quranic verses as this can lead to misinterpretation and misunderstanding of Allah's message.
