Two Ladies Against the Prophet

SUMMARY: The hadith is about two ladies, Aisha and Hafsa, who tried to back each other against the Prophet.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: I intended to ask 'Umar so I said, "Who were those two ladies who tried to back each other against the Prophet?" I hardly finished my speech when he said, They were 'Aisha and Hafsa".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُبَيْدَ بْنَ حُنَيْنٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ يَقُولُ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَ عُمَرَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَنِ الْمَرْأَتَانِ اللَّتَانِ تَظَاهَرَتَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَمَا أَتْمَمْتُ كَلاَمِي حَتَّى قَالَ عَائِشَةُ وَحَفْصَةُ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about two ladies, Aisha and Hafsa, who tried to back each other against the Prophet. Umar was asked by Ibn 'Abbas about these two ladies and he immediately knew that they were Aisha and Hafsa. This hadith teaches us that we should not try to oppose or go against the teachings of the Prophet as it will lead us astray from our faith. We should always strive to follow his teachings in order for us to be successful in this life and hereafter. We should also remember that Allah knows all things so we must be careful with our actions as He will judge us accordingly on Judgement Day.
