QUICK LESSONS:
Follow the example of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when making decisions about our own lives. Take responsibility and make amends by doing something as recompense if you break your promise or statement .

EXPLANATIONS:
An oath is a promise or statement that one makes with the intention of fulfilling it. If someone says to his wife “You are unlawful to me” then he must make an expiation for his oath. This means that he must do something in order to make up for breaking his promise or statement. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was the best example of how one should act and behave in all situations and so we should strive to follow his example when making decisions about our own lives. We should always remember that if we break a promise or statement then we must take responsibility and make amends by doing something as recompense.
