It is narrated by Abu 'Is-haq that a man asked Al-Aswad which was the correct pronunciation for a certain verse in the Quran - either Fahal min Muddakir or Mudhdhakir. Al Aswad replied that he heard Abdullah bin Masud recite it as Fahal min Muddakir, while he also heard Prophet Muhammad ﷺ recite it as Fahal min Muddakir with an extra ‘d’ sound.
