Reciting the Quran

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to recite a verse from the Quran.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Masud: The Prophet used to recite: "Fahal-min-muddakir (then is there any that will receive admonition?")
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ يَقْرَأُ ‏{‏فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ‏}‏

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was known for his recitation of the Holy Quran. He would often recite a particular verse which translates to “then is there any that will receive admonition?” This verse is found in Surat al-Muddaththir and serves as an invitation to reflect on one’s actions and take heed of Allah’s warnings. It also serves as a reminder that we should be mindful of our words and deeds, for they will be judged by Allah on the Day of Judgment. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to read and understand the Holy Quran in order to gain knowledge about our faith and live according to its teachings.
