The Punishment of Hellfire

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) said that the people will be thrown into Hell and it will continue to ask for more until Allah puts His Foot over it.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, "The people will be thrown into the (Hell) Fire and it will say: "Are there any more (to come)?' (50.30) till Allah puts His Foot over it and it will say, 'Qati! Qati! (Enough Enough!)'"
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرَمِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ يُلْقَى فِي النَّارِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ‏.‏ حَتَّى يَضَعَ قَدَمَهُ فَتَقُولُ قَطِ قَطِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the punishment of hellfire. It was narrated by Anas, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to this hadith, when people are thrown into hell, it will keep asking for more until Allah puts His Foot over it and says "Enough Enough!" This shows us how severe the punishment in hell is and how merciful Allah is in stopping its punishment when He wills. We should take this as a warning to stay away from sins and strive to do good deeds so that we can avoid such a fate.
