Five Events of the Past

SUMMARY: This hadith talks about five events that have already happened in the past.

Narrated 'Abdullah: Five things have passed, ie the smoke, the defeat of the Romans, the splitting of the moon, Al-Batsha (the defeat of the infidels in the battle of Badr) and Al-Lizam (the punishment)'.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ مَضَى خَمْسٌ الدُّخَانُ وَالرُّومُ وَالْقَمَرُ وَالْبَطْشَةُ وَاللِّزَامُ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abdullah and it talks about five events that have already happened in the past. These events are smoke rising up to the sky; defeat of the Romans; splitting of the moon; victory for Muslims at battle of Badr and punishment from Allah. These five events are mentioned as a reminder to us that Allah has power over all things and He can do whatever He wills. We should always remember this and be thankful for His blessings upon us. We should also strive to live our lives according to His commands so we can receive His mercy and forgiveness.
