Banning Usury and Alcohol Trade

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) recited verses from the Quran about usury and then banned the trade of alcohol.

Narrated 'Aisha: When the verses of Surat "Al-Baqara"' about the usury Riba were revealed, the Prophet went to the mosque and recited them in front of the people and then banned the trade of alcohol.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ لَمَّا أُنْزِلَ الآيَاتُ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي الرِّبَا، خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَرَأَهُنَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ، ثُمَّ حَرَّمَ تِجَارَةَ الْخَمْرِ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a time when the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) recited verses from Surat Al-Baqara in the mosque. These verses were about usury, which is when someone lends money with an interest rate that is too high. After reciting these verses, he then banned the trade of alcohol. This hadith teaches us that it is important to follow Allah's commands and not do things like trading alcohol or taking part in activities such as usury which are forbidden by Allah. It also teaches us to be mindful of our actions and how they can affect others around us. We should strive to be good role models for those around us by following Allah's commands and setting a good example for others to follow.
