Sahih al-Bukhari 4717 (Book 65, Hadith 239) #4500
The Reward of Congregational Prayer

SUMMARY: Prayers performed in congregation are more rewarding than those performed alone. The angels of the day and night attend the Fajr prayer.

Narrated Ibn Al-Musaiyab: Abu Huraira said, "The Prophet said, 'A prayer performed in congregation is twenty-five times more superior in reward to a prayer performed by a single person. The angels of the night and the angels of the day are assembled at the time of the Fajr (Morning) prayer". Abu Huraira added, "If you wish, you can recite:-- 'Verily! The recitation of the Qur'an in the early dawn (Morning prayer) is ever witnessed (attended by the angels of the day and the night)'. (17:78)

QUICK LESSONS:
Pray in congregation
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that when Muslims pray together in congregation they will receive a greater reward than if they were to pray alone. It is narrated by Ibn Al-Musaiyab and Abu Huraira that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that a prayer performed in congregation is twenty-five times more superior in reward to a prayer performed by a single person. Furthermore, it is mentioned that at the time of Fajr prayer both the angels of day and night assemble together. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to come together for their prayers as not only will they receive greater rewards but also have the presence of angels with them during their prayers.
