The Secrets of Unseen Known Only to Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith explains that Allah is the only one who knows the secrets of the unseen, such as what will happen tomorrow, what is in a woman's womb, when it will rain, where someone will die and when the Hour of Judgement will be established.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "The keys of Unseen are five which none knows but Allah: None knows what will happen tomorrow but Allah; none knows what is in the wombs (a male child or a female) but Allah; none knows when it will rain but Allah; none knows at what place one will die; none knows when the Hour will be established but Allah".
حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَفَاتِيحُ الْغَيْبِ خَمْسٌ لاَ يَعْلَمُهَا إِلاَّ اللَّهُ لاَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدٍ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَلاَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَغِيضُ الأَرْحَامُ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَلاَ يَعْلَمُ مَتَى يَأْتِي الْمَطَرُ أَحَدٌ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، وَلاَ تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَىِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ، وَلاَ يَعْلَمُ مَتَى تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that Allah is the only one who knows all secrets about what lies in the future. He alone knows what tomorrow holds for us, whether a woman is pregnant with a male or female child, when it will rain and where someone will die. Furthermore, He also knows when exactly the Day of Judgment or The Hour shall come to pass. This hadith serves as an important reminder for us to always put our trust in Allah and not worry about things we cannot control or predict. We should strive to do our best with whatever we have been given and leave everything else up to Him.
