Disobeying Allah's Order

SUMMARY: The hadith is about how the children of Israel changed Allah's order and disobeyed Him.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "It was said to the children of Israel, 'Enter the gate in prostration and say Hitatun. (7:161) We shall forgive you, your faults'. But they changed (Allah's Order) and entered, dragging themselves on their buttocks and said, Habbatun (a grain) in a Sha'ratin (hair).

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey God’s commands .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the children of Israel disobeyed Allah's orders. According to this hadith, Allah told them to enter a gate in prostration and say Hitatun, which means 'we shall forgive you your faults'. However, they changed His orders and entered dragging themselves on their buttocks instead of prostrating and said Habbatun in a Sha'ratin instead of Hitatun. This shows that they were not following what Allah asked them to do, thus disobeying Him. This teaches us that we should always obey God’s commands as He knows best for us. We should also be careful not to change His orders or try to find loopholes in them as it will lead us astray from the right path.
