QUICK LESSONS:
Respect your elders' decisions .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about how the mosque was built during Prophet Muhammad's lifetime and how it was changed by Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman. During Prophet Muhammad's time, it was built with adobes, its roof with leaves of date-palms and its pillars with stems of date-palms. Abu Bakr did not make any changes to it but Umar expanded it on the same pattern as before using adobes, leaves of date-palms and changing its pillars into wooden ones. Lastly, 'Uthman changed it by expanding it greatly and building its walls with engraved stones and lime while making its pillars out of engraved stones too; he also made its roof out of teak wood. This hadith teaches us that we should always respect our elders' decisions but also be open to change if necessary for a better future.
