The Battle of Uhud and its Aftermath

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) appointed 'Abdullah bin Jubair as the commander of the infantry during the battle of Uhud, and they returned defeated.

Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib: The Prophet appointed 'Abdullah bin Jubair as the commander of the infantry during the battle of Uhud. They returned defeated, and that is what is meant by:-- "And the Apostle was calling them back in the rear. None remained with the Prophet then, but twelve men".
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ جَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ عَلَى الرَّجَّالَةِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، وَأَقْبَلُوا مُنْهَزِمِينَ، فَذَاكَ إِذْ يَدْعُوهُمُ الرَّسُولُ فِي أُخْرَاهُمْ، وَلَمْ يَبْقَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ غَيْرُ اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ رَجُلاً‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about an event that occurred during the battle of Uhud. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ appointed 'Abdullah bin Jubair as the commander of a group of infantry soldiers to fight in this battle. Unfortunately, they were defeated and only twelve men remained with him at that time. This hadith teaches us about perseverance in times of difficulty, even when we face defeat or failure. It also teaches us to remain loyal to our leaders and follow their instructions even if it leads to a difficult situation or failure. We should never give up hope but continue striving for success with faith in Allah's will and mercy.
