Sahih al-Bukhari 4536 (Book 65, Hadith 59) #4320
Uthman's Refusal to Change the Position of a Verse in the Quran

SUMMARY: Uthman ibn Affan refused to change the position of a verse in the Quran, even though it had been abrogated by another verse.

Narrated Ibn Az-Zubair: I said to 'Uthman, "This Verse which is in Surat-al-Baqara: "Those of you who die and leave widows behind.without turning them out". has been abrogated by another Verse. Why then do you write it (in the Qur'an)?" 'Uthman said".Leave it (where it is), O the son of my brother, for I will not shift anything of it (ie the Qur'an) from its original position".

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect religious texts , Follow God’s Will .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Uthman ibn Affan, one of the companions of Prophet Muhammad and also one of his successors as Caliph. He was asked why he did not remove a verse from Surat al-Baqara that had been abrogated by another verse. He replied that he would not shift anything from its original position in the Qur'an. This shows us how important it is to respect and uphold God's words, even if they have been replaced with something else. It also teaches us that we should be careful when making changes or alterations to religious texts, as we must always ensure that we are following God's will and not our own desires or opinions.

The values taught here are reverence for God's words, respect for religious texts, and caution when making changes or alterations to them.
