Rewards of Missionary Work

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) sent a group of people on a mission and they were rewarded with booty.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet sent a Sariya towards Najd and I was in it, and our share from the booty amounted to twelve camels each, and we were given an additional camel each. So we returned with thirteen camels each.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ سَرِيَّةً قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ، فَكُنْتُ فِيهَا، فَبَلَغَتْ سِهَامُنَا اثْنَىْ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا، وَنُفِّلْنَا بَعِيرًا بَعِيرًا، فَرَجَعْنَا بِثَلاَثَةَ عَشَرَ بَعِيرًا‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rewards of missionary work. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent a group of people on a mission and they were rewarded with booty. Each person received twelve camels as their share from the booty and an additional camel each as an extra reward for their efforts. This hadith teaches us that when we do good deeds, Allah will reward us for our efforts. We should always strive to do good deeds in order to receive Allah's blessings in this life and in the hereafter.
