QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your promises/vows even if you make them before becoming Muslim or learning Islamic teachings and values

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about fulfilling vows in Islam. It was narrated by Ibn 'Umar that when they returned from the battle of Hunain, Umar asked the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ about a vow he had made during the pre-Islamic period of ignorance. The Prophet ﷺ instructed him to fulfill his vow. This teaches us that even if we make a promise or vow before we become Muslim or learn about Islamic teachings and values, it is still important for us to keep our word and fulfill our promises as Muslims. We should always strive to be honest and trustworthy people who keep their word no matter what situation we are in or how long ago we made our promise.
