Sahih al-Bukhari 4316 (Book 64, Hadith 347) #4120
Standing Firm in Adversity

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) did not flee from the enemy on the day of Hunain, instead he proclaimed his identity as a prophet and son of 'Abdul Muttalib.

Narrated Abu 'Is-haq: Al-Bara' was asked while I was listening, "Did you flee (before the enemy) along with the Prophet on the day of (the battle of) Hunain?" He replied, "As for the Prophet, he did not (flee). The enemy were good archers and the Prophet was saying, "I am the Prophet undoubtedly; I am the son of 'Abdul Muttalib".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the courage and strength of character that is expected from believers. On the day of Hunain when faced with an enemy that was skilled in archery, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ did not flee but instead proclaimed his identity as a prophet and son of 'Abdul Muttalib. This shows us that even in times of adversity we should remain steadfast and true to our beliefs. We should never be afraid to stand up for what we believe in or who we are no matter how difficult it may seem at first. It is important to remember that Allah will always be with us if we have faith and trust Him.
